De rivaliteit tussen de Britse Lewis Hamilton en de Nederlandse coureurskampioen Max Verstappen 2021 hervat in 2022 Formule 1 Wereldkampioenschap Het vliegseizoen begint op zondag 20 maart bij de Grand Prix van Gulf Air Bahrain.
Hoogtepunten van het inaugurele schema voor 2022 zijn onder meer: crypto.com De Grand Prix van Miami op 8 mei, de prestigieuze Grand Prix van Monaco op 29 mei, de Grand Prix van Canada op 19 juni, de Grand Prix van de Verenigde Staten op 24 oktober en de Grand Prix van Mexico op 30 oktober. Het seizoen wordt op 20 november afgesloten met de Grand Prix van Abu Dhabi.
Vanwege de Russische inval in Oekraïne is de Russische Grand Prix die oorspronkelijk op 25 september stond gepland, afgelast.
Alle races worden live uitgezonden op ESPN, ESPN2 of ABC, evenals op de ESPN-app. Zend training en kwalificatie uit op ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNEWS of ESPNU. Nieuw dit jaar: trainingen en kwalificatie-uitzendingen worden ook uitgezonden op ESPNEWS en ESPNU ESPN3.
ESPN werkt opnieuw samen met Sky Sports en Formula 1 om de bekroonde Sky Sports-show naar de Amerikaanse kijkers te brengen.
